One Sweet Hello

Posted on 9th November 2009 by Meizhu in Photography - Tags: , , , ,

I was there
You were there
I said “hello”
But you bid “goodbye”.

You called them to play
While I sat there patiently.
You were too busy on them
That you didn’t realize I was there.

I always see you in a distance
Amidst my poor eyesight a hindrance.
Your sight always makes my day
And that’s all worth the pay.

Ah! How I wish you could be my buddy.
You and me, in perfect harmony.
I wouldn’t ask for more
Just your one, sweet hello.

Philippine House Dog

This is Bruno, a typical Philippine house dog. Oftentimes Philippine dogs are called “Askal” from the word “Asong Kalye” which means “Dogs from the Streets”. These poor animals are often killed and made as “pulutan” or foods eaten while drinking beers or rhum by some bystanders (those who don’t have a regular jobs and are fond of drinking liquor beside the streets) or whom they called as “Istambays” . These heartless people doesn’t take any doubt of killing these dogs inorder to get something to eat and some of them were slaughtered only for the curiosity of tasting dog meat. But Bruno here is a good and hardworking dog. Just like any other dog, he is still considered as  “Man’s Best Friend” . Unlike imported bred dogs, Bruno here is low - maintenance and can eat leftover foods but not stale foods. Bruno also recognizes easily family members and can sniff out bad people. Just don’t offend this kind of dog because they surely bite if they don’t know you but so far it really depends on the owners training. Philippine dogs are mostly mix bred and it’s hard to point out whose the real bred. The message what I’m supposed to share here is to love animals no matter wha t they are and where they come from- Imported or Local bred they are still creatures made by God.

Stop Killing Askals! May the Philippine Legislators impose a more strict law on this. May this article open up the minds of those dogmeat-eating bastards.

Beauty

It is only with the heart that one can see rightly;

what is essential is invisible to the eye.
